Our group was hosted by the Union of Palestinian Medical Relief Committees (UPMRC), under the direction of Dr. Mohammed Iskafi, UPMRC’s Director of Emergency Services, shown here on the left.
UPMRC, a non-governmental organization, is the largest provider of healthcare services to the population of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In addition to direct patient care, UPMRC operates social services including programs for the
disabled and youth. |
| UPMRC operates 25 fixed clinics, such as this site in Hebron (Dr. Mahmoud
Bregheeth, of UMPRC, is at left), and coordinates with the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority (PA), which operates 9 clinics, so as to avoid duplication of services.
